Alejandro Núñez, aka Zutzut, was born in Monterrey, México and has been involved in the mexican electronic music scene since 2007, when he started DJing. In 2010 he moved to Mexico City, where he started producing and while living there, he became part of the city’s collective N.A.A.F.I., where he was involved in different movements promoting underground rhythms throughout the country alongside colleagues like LAO, as well as with initiatives like Club Viral, collective that he founded in northern México focused in the diffusion of experimental dance rhythms. He is deeply interested in the decontextualization of sounds from Latin American countries, taking street music to a deeper experimental sound, following the path of many others who have influenced him through the years.
Throughout his career he has performed in more than twenty countries and in renown festivals like CTM Berlin in 2016, Sónar in Barcelona and the New Forms Festival in Vancouver in 2017. He has officially collaborated with artists like Gaika (Unite Kingdom), Embaci (USA), Linn Da Quebrada (Brazil), Mc Bin Laden (Brazil), Dinamarca (Sweden), Lechuga Zafiro (Uruguay) and L-Vis 1990 (United Kingdom), among others; and has worked with brands like RedBull, Boiler Room, Ray-Ban, Nike, All Saints, Mancandy, Converse, Fader, i-D and Native Instruments.
